Danny Truxaw

Thurston James was one of the most original thinkers and doers in technical theatre.  Author of several books, he had started with a text on lighting effects which he never had a chance to finish.  I collaborated with Thurston on several projects and consider him my true mentor.

About the Images

These images were taken at UCLA where Thurston continued the work we did earlier at Immaculate Heart College.  They were intended to be illustrations for the book on lighting effects he started in the early seventies and returned to a number of times over the years between and after working on his other books.

More Information

I have a significant amount of Thurston' s original writings and research on lighting.  I will post additional material here.  I hope to be able to someday teach a lab class in these wonderful concepts.
